About TGAA

An Association of local government subdivisions, TGAA members believe that government accountability and transparency is a precondition of effective self-government. As a non-partisan, non-profit organization, TGAA does not bend to party-line ideologies. Instead, TGAA promotes broad based ethical and transparency standards, deserved by the citizens of Texas and applicable to all levels of Government in the state.  

Together, we will demand Government transparency.

Anthony Wilder, Chairman

Anthony Wilder, Chairman

Anthony Wilder grew up in Dallas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Mathematics with concentrations in Actuarial Science and Risk Management & Insurance. He spent the first 25 years of his career in actuarial consulting and technology. He most recently served as the Head of Customer Success (Americas) for a large, international pizza brand.

In 2011, Anthony was elected to the Carrollton City Council. He served 6 years in many roles including Mayor Pro Tem, Chairman of the Finance/Audit Committee, and a member of the Trinity River Authority CRWS Advisory Committee. He was also the featured speaker and panelist at numerous seminars throughout North Texas for local and state elected officials during his time in office. His desire was, and still is, a more transparent, efficient and accountable government at the local level. He now serves as the Executive Director of TGAA.

Anthony and his wife, Sarah, live in North Texas with their 4 children.

Kathy Wheat, Vice President

Kathy Wheat, Vice President

Kathy Wheat grew up in the San Antonio area and attended the University of Texas at Austin graduating with a BA in Mathematics. She spent her early career in technical marketing and data analytics before moving to Colleyville to raise her two children with her husband Brad.

Kathy served on the Colleyville City Council from 2017-2023 as both a general council member and Mayor Pro Tem. Additionally, she served on the Colleyville Audit Committee, the Colleyville Tax Increment Finance District Board, the Colleyville Economic Development Corporation Board, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and as a member of the North Central Texas Council of Governments.

Matt Krause

Matt Krause

Matt Krause is a fourth generation Texan. He graduated from the inaugural class of Liberty University School of Law in 2007. Upon graduation, he opened up the Texas office for a national non-profit constitutional litigation firm. With the firm, Matt worked on pro-life, pro-family, and religious liberty cases.

In 2012, Matt won the Republican primary and general election for Texas House of Representatives for House District 93. In his five terms of service, Matt was consistently recognized for his legislative efforts supporting limited government, fiscal responsibility, pro-life causes, the 2nd Amendment and religious liberty. He served as Chairman of the General Investigating Committee and served on numerous other committees such as the Civil Jurisprudence and Judiciary Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Redistricting Committee, and the committee on Culture, Recreation, & Tourism. Matt was also a founding member of the Texas Freedom Caucus in the Texas House. Matt and his wife, Jennie, live in the Fort Worth area with their five children.
